Vacation Bible School Motto and Theme were:Gear Up! Get Ready! Game On! The week long event began on Sunday night with refreshments and a large group lesson by Bro. Timmy Locklear on the parable of the "one" lost lamb that Jesus will leave the 99 to find and bring back to the flock. Bro. Timmy set the stage for a week of fabulous bible lessons, creative crafts, fun recreations, fantastic food, and some of the most joyous music you can find!! More than 130 students, teachers, and elders participated and focused on the week's theme verse 2 Peter 1:3 which says His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3 (CSB) Christ Connection: In Jesus, we have everything we need to live a life that honors God. When we trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord, He rescues us from sin and death and gives us power to live joyfully for Him. The week ended at the Conference Building with a Water Day including Slides & Hoagies to celebrate the finale of VBS. Almost $800 was collected towards mission money with the guys vs. girls in serious competition to see who could raise the most funds. The guys won and Sis. Jolena Locklear was selected to receive the Ice Challenge, but Preacher Chris Miller decided he would stand in along with her since the money was raised to help one of our church families!

Total Abandonment-The desire at Total Abandonment (TA) every year is not just to have another youth conference, but also to create an atmosphere for youth to encounter the presence of God. 18 Youth from New Prospect and Union Chapel Churches along with 6 chaperones attended this CRAZY and OVER THE TOP summer conference. TA is geared towards students between the ages of 12 - 21 but anyone in junior high, high school or college are welcome to come hang out with us. It is a mix between the joys of staying together at camp with power packed services like a conference. Teens reported a renewed sense of connection with God and thought the worship services were AMAZING!
