Old Fashion Sunday 2013 (Riverside)

Riveside homecoming 2013 05

On September 1, 2013 we held Old Fashion Sunday at Riverside Church and it was wonderful. We had men and women dress the way that those old saints dressed back in the day. Everyone had a good time with it and we hosted our conference superintendent and his wife for the service, in which we had good singing from our choir and wonderful praise and worship from Gods Foundation. It was so exciting that we plan to go a little farther with it next year as we gather around our old oak tree and have a meal that our ancestors tied there horse and buggy to. So it was a great day and we thank our Lord and savior for the-past, but also thanking him for our future that he has brought our people a long ways. Thank you Lord for the Old Fashion Sunday that teaches us that the Old Fashion should be the New Fashion. God Bless!

2013 VBS (Riverside)

riverside vbs 2013 web1

Riverside church had our VBS on June 24 thru 26, and we had a blast. The theme for our VBS was " God's Backyard BIBLE CAMP" where kids have a blast serving JESUS. We had an average of about 50 kids each night with a high of about 73, so we are very thankful for what we accomplished this week. Each night the kids learned about Moses, Joseph, Miriam and how it is so important that we as Gods children get out of our backyards, our comfort zones and see what is happening out in our community's.

We come to church, set down and we never see what is outside because when we look thru the windows at our church's we can't see outside because we have stained windows that stops us from seeing what is outside. Jesus, with his disciples went from town to town to spread the gospel and went to church to pray n praise the almighty God. We learned that we need to get out of the mud in our own "Backyard" and go out and be a servant for The Lord. I want to thank all the people who came out and worked very hard to make our VBS a success and thanks to our local Boy Scout for coming out and showing us how to start a fire without matches right in our own "Backyard".

Fathers Day 2013 (Riverside)

Riverside fathers day 2013 12web

We enjoyed a wonderful day of recognizing our fathers of Riverside church. We honored the oldest father and the father with the most children. The choir sang wonderful songs and a sermon was delivered to the congregation titled: "How To Spot A Good Man." We would like to thank God for our fathers and more importantly thank Him for being the, "Father Of Many Nations." By the blood of Chirst He has taking us into His home being the greatest Father ever known to mankind!

Thank You Almighty God.
