New Bethel Providing Christmas Joy

christmas_carolersFairmont- On December 19, 2010 37 members of New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church rather than spend their afternoon watching football or "Christmas" programming on television
chose instead to be a part of the Christmas experience, by providing Christmas joy to some needy and shut-ins in the church community surprising them with groceries, fruit baskets and personal hygiene gifts bags. While at the home the children and adults from the church serenaded the home with choruses of "Away in a Manger", "Silent Night", "Joy to the World" and of course every one's favorite "We Wish You a Merry Christmas. The afternoon's activities were coordinated by Mrs. Jennifer Hunt, Lay Leader at the church.

Christmas Program at New Bethel 2010

New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Celebrated its Annual Christmas Program with the aid of the Master's Puppets Ministry Team from Liberty Holiness Church. The children from the Church recited poems and sang songs to an audience of 125 people followed by an outstanding presentation of the joy and meaning of Christmas by the puppeteers. Accompanied by special music and highlighted by special effects from the cast. If you have not seen this group in action you are missing a great blessing. Along with the Pastor and congregation of New Bethel would like to thank this team for the great ministry to our church and community.

After the presentation the church celebrated Christmas early by sharing refreshments and fellowshipping with one another and by exchanging gifts. The church family would encourage all of us during this most Holy time of the year to remember that Jesus is not just the reason for the season but he is the reason of all our hope and peace. Please visit our photo gallery to view more photographs from this wonderful time together. If you wish to contact this group please call Kristy Spaulding at 910-374-5557 you will not be disappointed.

Service at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church

Rev. Jacobs stated the following:
1.    Peace
2.    Joy
3.    Love
“We need peace among the unsaved. We need peace in our churches. If we don’t have peace on the outside- the schools, the court system, or here among each other then we don’t know the peace of Jesus. Jesus said my peace is deeper than anything else. It passes all understanding (Example : Cane and Abel) Cane killed his brother because he didn’t have much peace or joy.”- Rev Willie Jacobs

“Love one another. When someone passes away we say we lost them—but we didn’t lose them because we know where they are! If we praise the Lord now, we can praise the Lord when death comes to our door. We belong to God, we must give that love back. Remember when you got saved you wanted to tell everybody what happened. You are blessed beyond measure! The Word of God is a road map that we can live by.”-Rev Willie Jacobs

“My people we must put love, peace ,and joy back in to our homes.” -Rev Willie Jacobs

The choir sang “Sing me a song about Jesus” and “There is a River.”
