Off To the Army 2017 (Macedonia)

IMG 0276

On February 19th 2017 we acknowledged Trustin Locklear before the church body that he would be joining the Army to serve our great country. Trustin was active in our Sunday school class as a young person and I had real concerns upon where this young man would end up in life. First he ended up at Highway 55 flipping burgers for Bruce Jacobs and Trustin really showed a great work ethic, surely pass down from his grandma Sister Reba Locklear and his mother and uncle so please pray for Trustin Locklear's safekeeping and for his soul to be saved as he protects our country.

Helping Others (Macedonia)

The month of December presented us with two wonderful opportunities to help two sisters in our community. Project Keep the water flowing was for Sister Alafaye Newton who had no water for almost a month and our conference through the Home Foreign Mission Board pitched half the funding to replumb her entire home and Macedonia Church covered the other half of the funding. We told Sister Faye that every time she eats, washes or uses any water it was the love of Christ pouring through the faucets. The other Sister in need was Mary Lois Lowry she just got a new apartment and Project Fill the pantry come about, she gave us a needs list and the church responded with great giving. May we continue to be a blessing to all who present us with the opportunity to spread the love of Christ!

Preparing for Death 2016 (Macedonia)

Nobody likes to talk about it until we have to and that is the reality of death. Richard Boles shared valuable info with us about end of life planning. One of the most remarkable things I heard is at the time of death the experts say 125 decisions have to be made, we can make it easier through prearrangement and talk about it and our grieving will be a little easier. Average cost of funerals are around $7000 not many of us have that laying around so plan but most of all that one decision of knowing Jesus definitely makes it easier on us all. We all have an appointment to make and someone will follow through with our arrangements. Richard Boles is available to come to your church and talk about these issues. Also on this day we fellowshipped around food the brotherhood done there job, cooked and cleaned.
