Cherokee's Mother/Daughter Banquet 2017

20170513 131720web

Saturday, May 13, Cherokee's Mothers/Daughters received a better understanding as why sunflowers are always drooping in the morning. Mrs. Leigh Bullard gave a short message on, "Are you a SON-flower" (what we must do to be a follower of the "SON"). 1. "SON" flowers will always track the SON... 2. "SON" flowers need to have a stable foundation 3. "SON" flowers produce seed. Like a sunflower which follows every movement of the sun, we should turn to God and follow the direction that God is leading us. Also, mothers/daughters were given the opportunity of hand painting their own unique sunflower on canvas. Thanks to Mrs. Debbie Chavis for the preparation of this annual event. So, are you living like a SON-flower?

Cherokee's Senior Citizens Trip 2017

Cherokee's Senior Citizens Trip

The first week in May, Cherokee's Senior Citizens took a five day road trip to Pennsylvania. Their week consist of: Spirit of Philadelphia Dinner Cruise with delicious food, fun and incredible views, a visit to the Amish Country, and a tour to the Independence Hall to see the Liberty Bell. The highlight of this trip is when our eyes fixed upon the Sight & Sound Theatre as the Bible came alive with a stage production of Jonah, "You Can Run, But You Can't Hide". With enormous sets, elaborate costumes, immersive lighting and sound design, Jonah's adventure came to life in many vivid colors. Also, a Senior Citizens trip is not complete without lots of shopping. A special Thank You to Ms. Diane Belcher for assisting Diamond Tours from Florida for a well planned/organized trip. Ms. Diane, we thank God for you!
