Riverside Celebrates Homecoming 2016
A church homecoming is supposed to be a time of celebration – to remember, to reflect, and to renew. It is a day set aside to remember the past and those that came before us, to reflect on the present and where we are now, and to renew old friendships and create new ones. Furthermore, it is a day to worship God and to thank Him for our families and friends. Riverside takes this meaning to heart.
Keeping with tradition, Riverside celebrated our Homecoming on the first Sunday in October – October 2, 2016. The day began with a praise and worship service featuring The Glory Bound Quartet. Our adult and youth choirs also participated in the service. As usual, all that attended received a blessing through the ministry of each of these groups.
Following the worship service, everyone gathered in the fellowship hall for lunch. No homecoming is complete without food – and as usual the ladies of Riverside did not disappoint. While eating, everyone enjoyed a time of remembering the past and reflecting on and sharing about the present. Old friendships were rekindled and new ones were formed. In the end, Riversides Homecoming was an excellent time of fun, food, and fellowship for all.
